1.1.11

cerita malam new moon..
I prefer to stay home to 'celebrate'. chewah. padahal lazing dpn tv tgk cerita 'bones' n 'criminal minds' sambil borak2 ng family, mcm mlm2 semalam, kdg2 terdengar bunyi fireworks, lps tu tnya kakak, dah new year ke? tgk jam, belum lg. then, tiba2 dpn rumah bunyi mercun berdas2 yg kuat gila sampai abah yg tertidur terus bingkas bangun sambil membetulkan kain pelikat dy yg nasib baik xjatuh, dgn muka cuak gila, pergi jenguk kt luar rumah, kteorg semua lebih terkejut tgk dia, mak plak takut dia mengigau n terus keluar rumah, saya takut dy igt ade peperangan, hehe, abah saya mmg lucu. bila tgk luar tinggal kepulan asap dpn rumah suspek, tp sorang pun tadek, tau takut? tp jiran tu time deepavali pun mmg meriah sampai tempias kt kereta kakak saya, tapi time tu xpe la dia nk raya. actually i dnt really like crowded places with people screaming and armpits at your face. i get headache easily. hohoho

i never been specific with new year resolutions, bcos i forget the next day after i made one.terrible. it not necessarily have to wait for new year. i want to be better everyday. no matter on what scale.
of course there are some things which i want to improve on and at least be some kind of a guide. a lot actually. not enough space here. =P
but, for this year i seriously want to finish my ACCA and earn SOME money. InsyaAllah

new year quotes
Cheers to a New Year and another chance for us to get it right.
Oprah Winfrey
We spend January 1 walking through our lives, room by room, drawing up a list of work to be done, cracks to be patched. Maybe this year, to balance the list, we ought to walk through the rooms of our lives... not looking for flaws, but for potential.
Ellen Goodman
Never tell your resolution beforehand, or it's twice as onerous a duty.
John Selden
Good resolutions are simply checks that men draw on a bank where they have no account.
Oscar Wilde
One resolution I have made, and try always to keep, is this: To rise above the little things.
John Burroughs
It wouldn't be New Year's if I didn't have regrets.
William Thomas
People are so worried about what they eat between Christmas and the New Year, but they really should be worried about what they eat between the New Year and Christmas.

A Scottish tradition is First Footing, where the first person to enter your home after midnight is the first footer, a symbol for the New Year. A tall dark haired visitor is considered good luck.

If your name is Jack Straw do not go to Hungary for New Year's Eve, because the chances are you will be burnt. The tradition in Hungary on the 31st December is to burn an effigy called Jack Straw which represents all the evil and bad luck in the world. The effigy is taken around all the villages.
Germany
Berlin holds an enormous party at the Brandenburg Gate but the more traditional German is happy dropping molten lead into cold water and predicting the future. If it becomes a heart then there's a wedding, a ship means a journey and a pig equals food. And they leave a bit of every food on the table to ensure they have enough to eat for the year ahead. But what happens to that food? Don't you think it goes in the bin on New Year's Day?
Philippines
Children who jump about will grow taller in the coming year. And many children rattle tins with coins in to bring wealth to the people. Many people wear clothes with dots as this symbolizes health and fertility. Similarly tables are decorated with baskets of twelve different round fruits to symbolize prosperity in each coming month.
